Case Studies

The following case studies show my experience in terms of finance training,
coaching, project management and financial systems consultancy.

    Multi-national Engineering Company

The company’s project managers need to:

  •        Understand cost-benefit analysis
  •        Use their project monthly accounts more effectively
  •        Understand the effect of their activity upon the company’s annual
           profit and cash flow

The training achieves the above objectives and several benefits are realised.
The project managers can show their manager and their customers that their
project makes financial sense, and they can check that the project finances are
on track and take action if they're not.

    Global IT Company

The company was introducing a new leasing product and their salesmen
needed to understand the financial impact, both on their own business and that
of their customers.  The salesmen had limited financial awareness.  Working
alongside the company's financial experts, I developed a highly successful, half-
day presentation.  A handbook was created, which in a few, user-friendly
    pages, summarised the financial implications.

    Housing Association

The General Manager was responsible for the financial system, and for the
production of the monthly and annual accounts.  Much of the work involved was
sub-contracted to a firm of accountants.  I coached him over a number of
months and he now undertakes the work himself.  Not only does the
association save money, but he has enhanced his knowledge, understanding
and skills.  This has made him more effective and the organisation has benefited
because of his enhanced self-confidence and motivation.
