Training Background

Welcome!  I am Richard, a Chartered Accountant and Qualified
Trainer, and I specialise in delivering finance training and
    management consultancy.

During the last 12 years I have trained over 6,000 individuals in the UK in
financial awareness from organisations of all sizes.  Those trained have included
staff from every function, including sales, marketing, HR, administration, finance,
    operations, logistics and information systems.

I design, develop and deliver finance training courses for multi-national
companies, social enterprises, SME’s, charities, local authorities and government
departments and work as a finance training consultant for several of the UK’s
most prestigious training organisations, including the Chartered Management
Institute, the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Institute of Grocery
    Distribution.

I have a deep understanding of all topics that would usually form part of finance
    training, including:

            budgets and forecasts
            management accounts
            financial accounts
        cost analysis, including break-even analysis
            calculation of price
        the difference between cash and profit
        profit and loss accounts, cash flow statements and balance sheets
            working capital management
        Key Performance Indicators and ratio analysis
            cost-benefit analysis
            business plans

Delegate feedback shows that crucially I deliver programmes that explain
finance in an entertaining way.  Group work, individual exercises, quizzes, etc.
consolidate and build upon the learning.

I have extensive experience of undertaking consultancy projects.  For example
as a Business Link consultant in the East Midlands I offered financial advice to
start-up businesses, and to organisations which were failing because of a lack
    of financial acumen.

I currently work with a local authority assessing staff management capability,
and as an assessor and panel member for the Chartered Management
Institute, advising whether candidates should be awarded 'Chartered Manager'
    status.
